At One Stop Auto,we provide a wide range of alignment services performed by certified alignment technicians.

Wheel Alignment is often confused with Wheel Balancing.  The two really have nothing to do with each other except for the fact that they affect ride and handling.  If a wheel is out of balance, it will cause a vibration at highway speeds that can be felt in the steering wheel and/or the seat.  If the alignment is out, it can cause excessive tire wear and steering or tracking problems.

An alignment inspection and service can keep you worry free and your vehicle on the road longer. Vehicle alignment service helps your tires last longer, can help improve gas mileage and provides tighter handling to give you and your passengers a better ride. Many vehicle manufacturers now recommend Alignment, Drivetrain and Suspension Service inspections at the same time you get your oil changed.

Out-of-balance tires will cause a car to vibrate at certain speeds, usually between 50 and 70 mph. A tire is out of balance when one section of the tire is heavier than the others. One ounce of imbalance on a front tire is enough to cause a noticeable vibration in the steering wheel at about 60mph. To balance a wheel, the technician will mount it on a balancing machine which spins the wheel to locate the heavier part. He will then compensate for the heavy part by attaching a lead weight on the opposite side. Many people are pleasantly surprised at how smooth their car drives after balancing all four wheels.

With every wheel alignment package, we will:

  • Inspect your steering and suspension system.
  • Check your tire condition and air pressure.
  • Adjust your camber, caster and toe angles (if adjustable) to the manufacturer’s specifications. (Additional parts and labor may be necessary on some vehicles — see your customer service advisor for details.)

Brakes wear out over time requiring service. How long your brakes last is based on various things such as driving conditions, how you brake and other factors. For this reason, it is necessary to service your brakes regularly. We are familiar with the driving conditions here in Houston and know that your brakes need care. So we provide a complimentary inspection with every service to make sure that any problem is taken up before it becomes a major concern.

They may not be something you think about very often, but your vehicle's brakes are one feature that should always be in top working condition. Let's look at how to know when you need new brakes.

Things to watch for:

  • Scraping or grinding noise coming from the brakes
  • Test of Brake fluid indicates a copper content of 200 ppm or greater indicating the need for a fluid replacement
  • Brake pedal feels soft or spongy when the brakes pedal is depressed
  • Vehicle pulls to one side when the brakes are applied
  • Brake fluid level in master cylinder low
  • Brake system Warning Lamp stays illuminated

Catalytic Converter:

We provide catalytic converters for most make and models. Modified custom catalytic converters are also available for those expensive manifold catalytic converters. A catalytic converter is an emission control device that converts toxic gases and pollutants in exhaust gas to less toxic pollutants by catalyzing a redox reaction( and oxidation and a reduction reaction). Catalytic converters are used with internal combustion engines fueled by either gasoline or diesel. The catalytic converter is the most costly part of your exhaust system. If your catalytic converter begins to fail, you will hear loud leak or rattling sounds. A failing catalytic converter sounds like someone shaking a metal rattler filled with rocks while your car is in idle. You may also notice your check engine light is illuminated. Catalytic converters don't last forever, though, given the harsh environment in which they work, and you're not going to pass an emissions test without a fully-functioning catalytic converter.

Muffler:

We offer a full range of exhaust service options, from high performance mufflers and exhaust systems, to value-oriented replacement mufflers and systems. Most people think mufflers just keep their vehicle quiet. While that’s a big part of the job, there’s a lot more to it. The muffler is just one component in the exhaust emission system, which is responsible not only for cutting down on noise pollution, but for cutting down on air pollution. Your exhaust emission system does all of its important work while hanging precariously from the bottom of your vehicle. So to help keep your vehicle running smoothly, quietly, and efficiently, we recommend having your exhaust system checked out at least once a year.

WARNING SIGNS.

  • Exhaust manifolds and gaskets: cracks or small holes could cause exhaust leaks, affecting both safety and performance
  • Oxygen sensors: cracks, damaged wires, or blocked intakes could cause incorrect fuel/air mixture adjustments and poor fuel economy
  • Catalytic converters: overheating, dents, clogs, or corrosion could cause air pollution, excessive noise and rough idle
  • Resonators and mufflers: excessive rust or holes could cause air pollution, excessive noise and a rough idle
  • Pipes, hangers, clamps, and brackets: excessive rust or broken bolts could cause parts to hang dangerously low, resulting in a hazard for the people driving behind you
